My Crucible of Knowing
My Crucible of Knowing by Ruben Camp-White
When shadows lengthen and my path grows steep,And doubt, a serpent, whispers in my sleep,
I know this now, within that fiery test,
A sacred alchemy divinely blessed.
For faith, a seed within my weary breast,
Though seemingly so frail, will stand the stress,
Beneath the pressure, it will start to scale
The rugged cliffs of fear, where roots prevail.
Each tremor faced, each tear that softly falls,
Becomes a chisel shaping canyon walls
Within my spirit, carving deep and wide
A space where grace and understanding hide.
Like ancient rivers carving through the stone,
The trials etch a wisdom all my own.
I'll see God’s hand, a compass in the storm,
His steadfast love, a shelter keeping warm.
The refiner's fire, though it burns so bright,
Reveals the gold, a luminescence bright.
So let the testing come, let shadows loom,
For in that crucible, my spirit will bloom.
A deeper knowing, richer than before,
Will rise within me, knocking at my door.
I'll taste the nectar of His boundless grace,
And see His character reflected in my face.
Therefore, I lift my chin, let courage soar,
This testing ground will lead me to His door.
I embrace the struggle, let my spirit mend,
For faith refined, on God, I will transcend.
