In a landscape painted with hate, Where fear and shame danced like shadows.

I was just a flicker,

A candle in a storm,

But I learned, oh how I learned,

That this fight was never just mine.

It wasn't about the hue of my skin,

Nor the love I chose to cradle,

But a tapestry woven with our shared threads,

A collective humanity,

Vibrant and complex,

In every shade of existence.

"Unity is not found in sameness, but in the rich tapestry of our differences."

Wake up, wake up, wake up!

You who once wore blindfolds,

Eyes that could not see the colors of pain, Ears that could not hear the cries of the silenced,

Mouths that once spoke only of comfort.

This is not your singular tale;

It is ours—woven in the fabric of time, Stitched with the dreams of ancestors, Who fought valiantly,

For the very ground you now tread.

Diversity—a garden of myriad blooms,

Where every petal tells a story,

And every thorn teaches strength. Equity—a bridge built on the backs of giants,

Where all can cross,

No matter the weight of their burdens. Inclusion—the embrace of a warm hearth, Where every soul finds a place, And every voice, a melody.

Yet here we stand,

At the precipice of change,

With tables turned and walls crumbling,

As the world watches,

Awakening to the truth,

That your color, your race,

Your very essence,

Is part of this grand mosaic,

A symphony of humanity,

Resounding through the ages.

Light it with the fire of understanding,

To shatter the silence,

Together, as one,

In this beautiful, chaotic world,
