Poem: "When Life Gives You Lemons, Make Lemonade... and bring a Folding Chair!" (Mental Health: In Honor of Black History: Stigma, Prejudice and Discriminatory and Attitudes)
"When Life Gives You Lemons, Make
Lemonade... and bring a Folding
Chair!" (In
Honor of Black History Month) by Ruben
White
In
a world where the colors blend, Where laughter and wisdom twist and bend,
They say,
"Stay in your lane, don't cross that line,"
But we're here to dance, sip tea, and
shine.
If they don't give
you a seat at the table, bring a folding chair.
With laws that try
to dim our light,
We'll rise like the sun, oh so bright!
Like a phoenix from ashes, we'll take to the sky,
With humor and
heart, we'll soar and fly.
If they don't give
you a seat at the table, bring a folding chair.
They think they
can silence our vibrant song,
But we're the
chorus, and we've been here long.
With rhythms of
history, we'll clap and cheer,
For every voice matters, loud and
clear! If they don't give you a seat at the table, bring a folding chair.
So here's to the
dreamers, the doers, the brave,
Who laugh in the face of the narrowminded
wave.
We'll sprinkle some joy, like confetti in
the air,
Because change is a
party, and we're all invited there!
If they don't give
you a seat at the table, bring a folding chair.
Let's toast to the future, with humor and
grace,
Where diversity thrives in every
space. So grab your folding chair, and let's take a stand,
Together we'll
build a united land!
If they don't give
you a seat at the table, bring a folding chair.
