Poem: Rise from the Ashes (In Honor of Black History Month)
Rise from the Ashes by Ruben White
In the shadows where hatred once thrived,
we gather our courage, our spirits revived. Like phoenixes soaring from embers
so bright,
We shatter the darkness, igniting the
light. Grief is love with no place to go.
From
the ruins of bigotry, we'll build anew, with hands intertwined, a vibrant crew.
We'll weave threads of compassion, strong and true,
Creating a tapestry of hope's vivid hue.
Grief is love with no place to go.
Prejudice crumbles, a castle of sand,
As understanding rises, a united
stand. With hearts wide open, we'll bridge every chasm,
Transforming our pain into powerful
anthem.
Grief
is love with no place to go.
So let us be warriors, with love as our shield,
In the face of division, our fate is
revealed.
Together we
flourish, as one we will grow, From the ashes of sorrow, our spirits will glow.
Grief
is love with no place to go.
With each step we take, let kindness resound,
In the symphony of life, let harmony
abound.
For in unity's embrace, we'll rise
ever high, A testament to love, beneath the vast sky. Grief is love with no
place to go.
