Poem: The Dreams I Shed (mental health - overcoming adversity)

The Dreams I Shed by Ruben White

What dreams I had, like socks unpaired,
Dancing wildly, yet none were cared;
Of riches, glory, and endless fame,
But here I am, rewriting the game.
Oh, the love that once felt like a test,
Now blooms in laughter, no longer a mess.

I shed the weight of my childhood fears,
Like old confetti from long-gone years.
The fame that flickered turned into a spark,
Igniting my soul, lighting the dark.
With every heart-throb, I found my song,
Realizing, at last, I’ve been strong all along.

O burning doubt, my former foe,
You taught me strength, and now I glow!
Tears turned to rainbows, a colorful cheer,
My mental health? A journey, my dear.
So here’s to dreams, those whimsical schemes,
I’ve turned my life into vibrant memes!
