 The Stupor Soaker by Ruben White

In a world of fizz and blurry haze, Lived a fellow in a boozy daze. He'd stumble 'round with bleary eyes, And tell tall tales, all full of lies.

His breath, a stench, a reeking fume, Like a skunk had sprayed a locker room! He'd hiccup words, a slurring sound, As he swayed and wobbled, round and round.

"There's no truth in all your tales," they'd say, "You're lost in fog, you've gone astray!" But he'd just grin, a foolish guise, A master of disguise, a wolf in sheep's disguise.

Time ticked on, but he wouldn't learn, Stuck in a stupor, he'd twist and turn. "Dry your tears, wipe your bleary eyes," A voice would plead, "Oh, do be wise!"

But he'd just scoff and wave a hand, Lost in a world no one could understand. A child in a man's bewildered shell, Living in a drunken, hazy spell.

Hellos and goodbyes, they came and went, Like fleeting whispers on the wind. He'd drift along, a lonely soul, Adrift in a bottle, losing all control.

He dreamed of sailing on the Nile, A grand adventure, just a mile! But his boat was stuck, a drunken wreck, Sinking slowly in a bottle's neck.

So let this be a lesson, loud and clear, Don't let the stupor hold you near. Break free from the haze, the drunken lies, And let your spirit soar to sunny skies!
